Reno, NV

In 2010, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Department of Defense recognized PRCS with the Certificate of Appreciation for Patriotic Civilian Service. Specifically, the award recognized the Department’s efforts to seek grants and purchase specialized recreation equipment to help meet the recreational needs of injured service members and disabled veterans. In 2012 and 2013, the Nevada Recreation and Park Society (NRPS) recognized City of Reno with a Program of the Year Award for the inaugural Military Sports Camp and Fit but not Forgotten veteran fitness program. In 2013, City of Reno became a Ride 2 Recovery Project HERO program providing cycling for disabled veterans. In addition, the City of Reno has been honored and humbled to manage a Department of Veterans Affairs grant for the past four years.
