About Warrior Wellness Solutions
Durham, NC

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing Functional Medicine and Integrative Nutrition health coaching, wellness education, rehabilitative and adaptive exercise, and Post Traumatic growth training to Wounded, Ill and Injured Warriors, their families and caregivers. Our programs are tailored to veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illnesses or wound co-incident to their military service.

History

For several years before our legal inception in November 2009, the WWS team has provided integrative health and wellness education and training to thousands of wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and their caregivers.  Our curriculum has been delivered as professional military education for thousands of clients under the medical care of the Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration and has been delivered as professional military education and pre / post-deployment human performance and resiliency training to active duty war fighters. We are comprised of experienced and credentialed health and wellness practitioners providing personalized integrative health interventions, wellness education and specialized training to Wounded, Ill and Injured Warriors, their families and caregivers.  For over a decade we have been dedicated to helping those who have risked their lives and sacrificed their health and wellbeing for our country.  By creating an intimate, one-on-one relationship we enable the process of physical and emotional healing.  Our results show that the power of intensive training, interwoven with targeted holistic health strategies, leads to an overall improvement in quality of life.

Target Population/Needs of the Community

The Wounded, Ill, and Injured Service Members, Veterans, Caregivers and Family Members we serve struggle with complex multi-faceted risk factors: Overmedication, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Neuromuscular Dysfunction, Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, Chronic Inflammation, Chronic Pain, Digestive Health Issues, Sleep Hygiene Imbalances Heavy Metal and Neurotoxicity.  The majority of our clients have service connected injuries however they have not reached satisfactory benchmarks or sustainable results with any of their VA treatments and interventions. The rest are on Active Duty in transition awaiting Medical Retirement or a Return to Full or Limited Duty, most of which are attached to the Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Regiment, the SOCOM Care Coalition, or the US Army’s Warrior Transition Unit. Additionally, we address the needs of any caregivers or family member who has let their own wellness lapse while caring for their warrior in care.
